WordPress Auto Q&A plugin beta nearing completion

I’d just like to extend my thanks to the beta testers for their help. Certainly they’ve picked up on some bugs that I never would have.
As of right now, everything reported has been fixed (including two relatively minor things reported over the weekend). As long as nothing major comes up before then, Wednesday [...]

The Blackhat Society - Since 1692.

My family and I drove up to Salem, Massachusetts of Salem Witch Trial fame over the weekend. All was well and good, saw plenty of hags that could have been witches, but who knows! The town, while quaint and overall beautiful with the old houses and tiny old-style shops, is such a tourist [...]

Tactics for gaming the giants?

A little while ago, a friend asked me why I’m not doing stuff here like spouting SEO tactics and general blackhat goodies.  I gave him two reasons:
1. There are already plenty of blogs holding tactics out there, blackhat, whitehat, greyhat, bluehat…you name it, they come in all flavors.
2. I’m not really a very good blogger.  [...]

Wordze Signup Page “Malfunctions”

Okay, so not really. What it is doing, starting today at 10 minutes to 6PM EST and continuing for two days, is giving a $10 discount on monthly subscriptions.
To quote the email I got:
“This price has only been offered one time before, back when we first launch. As its getting close to our year [...]

WP Auto Q&A Version 2!

The beta hasn’t even been released yet and already the list of additions for v2 is large (and growing).
For instance:

Something I’ve talked about since the inception: scraped inline images. OOooh.
More rewriting options: thesaurus, etc. Woo.
Some sort of wp-cron scheme for comment approval. Yay.
Proxy support. What’s that for anyway?
Keyword injection. AAaagh.
Link injection. Gasp.
Non-English content. [...]

Whew.

We’re back…took a little longer than expected, but now everything should be a bit more snappy.

Server backup and reinstall.

Alright now, boys and girls!
I’m in the midst of a database backup right now. Already grabbed the file backup from the server.
Going to pop in a different OS to better serve my needs (really, I’m not much of a sysadmin…more of a tinkerer. The gentoo install I’ve got going on right now caused [...]

Squashed bugs…just the way I like ‘em.

I spent the latter half of the day getting rid of a couple of bugs that were nagging me…one being the modifications to categories that the newest version of Wordpress introduced.
Better to get rid of as many now rather than face the bad PR of a bad release.
Anyway. I have a couple of features [...]

The fallible human-picked release date…

Okay, so I’m not perfect and neither was my time of events. As I posted earlier, I had hoped to have a package put together for release by last Saturday.
Unfortunately, stuff came up–apparently my wife thinks her company picnic is more important than this.
Anyway, I’m going to work toward this Saturday. That way [...]
