So, these days I seem to have one major competitor. Doing what any normal person would do, I took a look at their code to see what’s going on and found something I certainly didn’t expect to see–direct line for line copying from Caffeinated Content. Not cool.
What are my options?
Also, CC update arrives shortly.

Yeah that is the game, sadly. I had few software and scripts copied before too. One guy apologized and blamed on his programmer and had it rewritten. Other times it was not worth the trouble.
and improve ours.
On the bright side, we know they will try to add some features and “make it better”, we might just use that for our own advantage
Def not cool. I would contact them about it to see if it was a rookie who did it. Assuming it was an error they may do the right thing and take it down or significantly alter it or geez maybe even try to work with you on how you could work it out.
If it was on purpose then one can only assume they are disreputable. Place a permanent notice here for all to see. At least we know where the real updates will come from!
All the best
Brian
Hey! Sorry to hear about this. Since CC is the only one of it’s kind that I use I’m not sure which one you are talking about but perhaps the old ‘what comes around goes around’ will eventually take care of that competitor.

Sorry to hear that. We should avoid copying but write free hand code.
Hey man, sorry to hear that but the thing is, when you publicize or share your software over the internet, expect these things to happen. You should have been prepared when you share CC.
I’m sorry to hear that your direct competitor stole lines of your software code. The internet is a wealth of information, sometimes people forget that just because it is on the internet it isn’t theirs to keep. I would also try and contact them. It very well could have been a new software programmer searching for information to make his job a little easier.
I am (also) sorry to hear that this has happened. I’m a coder myself and if it something I truly hate it is stealing.
I’ll just say what Mark Zuckerberg said in the movie ‘The Social Network’: great artists don’t steal. They copy.
I believe I’ve heard Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, say that a few times as well. And he’s one of my role models
/Nabil, from Sweden.
I’m sorry to hear that someone copied a code from your software. It’s really hard to prevent this from happening. It’s sad that skilled programmers use their exceptional skills to crack other software and copy a line from the code. I hope this people will learn to invest time in making their own codes since their really capable of making one on their own. I think they’re just too lazy to do it themselves. But yeah, you should try to contact them. It’s definitely worth a try…
